Engagement Photoshoot in Jersey City, NJ

We had such a vibe at Kiyyanna + Ibn’s Liberty State Park Engagement Photoshoot. I already knew we would after our zoom call lol. I literally remember laughing most of the call with Kiyyanna, Ibn, my assistant Kyra and myself. The laughing didn’t stop on zoom lol.

How We Met

I met Kiyyanna + Ibn at the ACS Bridal Show in Secaucus, NJ. This was my second show with them and it was definitely a great experience. I remember them coming to my booth where Kyra, my husband Oscar and myself were. It went from talking about weddings to Oscar and Ibn getting waxed at a booth across from us lol. In addition to that, I found out Ibn and I have the same birthday. To share my birthday is to be my friend haha.

The Photoshoot

Liberty State Park is one of my favorite locations to have an Engagement Photoshoot. I’m sure it’s a lot of New Jersey photographers favorite places as well. There is a lot of variety you can get at Liberty State Park. A Photoshoot of one couple in two outfits can definitely look like two separate locations here. The Empty Sky Memorial speaks elegance to me while the train station gives cute urban vibes lol. They also have brick which I love!

Although I love me a good Liberty State Park Engagement photoshoot, I don’t love photographing there too late. My late is defined as anytime after 9AM. After sunrise, you are bound to have a million other people there taking photographs as well which can slow down the session make my couples feel awkward too. I always aim to get there bright and early if possible. If I do have to go there a little later, I’ll choose a weekday.
