It’s funny how life works out sometimes. I went to school with Jenayah, but we never really talked back then; just familiar faces in the hallway. When she reached out years later about shooting her wedding, it instantly brought me back to those high school days. I couldn’t help but think about how different I am now. I thought about how much life has changed since those locker-lined hallways and class projects. It’s crazy how time moves, but somehow, the people from those old chapters find their way back into your story. #memories

Their engagement photos were definitely an adventure. We decided on the Brooklyn Bridge. We went on an early morning to catch the sunrise before the streets got too busy. What we didn’t realize was that a whole marathon was happening that same day. Runners everywhere. We tried to make it work, dodging people and still managed to get some really sweet shots. But because I wanted them to have that calm, uninterrupted moment together, we decided to do a second session. That round ended up being much calmer and peaceful, romantic, and just very them.

Then came the wedding day. It was a beautiful summer day. The kind that just feels warm in every way. They even provided mini fans and umbrellas for the guests, which I thought was such a cute touch. You could feel the love through the energy in the room; it was genuine, joyful, and contagious. Everyone had fun, danced the night away, and just celebrated them wholeheartedly.

Now that it’s been a few months since their special day, I’ve been browsing through their gallery and can’t help but smile. The colors, the laughs, the way Dashawn looked at her as she walked down the aisle. It still touches my heart.

It’s crazy how people cross paths again at the right time. What started as a simple “hey, are you available?” turned into one of my favorite experiences this year. Happy anniversary to Jenayah and Dashawn — here’s to many more milestones ahead.
