It was beautiful capturing my good friend’s intimate wedding. We have always had a great friendship. Growing up, I was not the emotional type at all lol. Life and finding love really changed a lot of that for me, as her bridal shower almost had me in tears. I remember going up to give a toast and feeling the boo hoo cry voice in the back of my throat haha. It was so beautiful to know that one of my good friends were getting married to the love of their life.

I remember being there when Shamaya met Amir back in high school and really liking them together. I didn’t imagine their journey would have taken them this far. Two beautiful people have put in the work, the time, the patience, the compromise and so much more. They had an intimate wedding this year but next year, God willing, the big festivities will take place on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, Jamaica. 

This pandemic really changed a lot of things for people and the plans we all had. Still, through all the chaos, sadness and hurt the world has gone through, most have learned a valuable lesson. Life is very short. It is truly important to live in the moment and cherish what we love around us. I didn’t understand at first why people were having intimate weddings this year and still having their big wedding next year. I understand now. Love is not canceled my friends and we should use this time to embrace rather than postpone it.
