What is a First Look?

A first look is a moment before the ceremony where the Bride and Groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day in their formal attire. Usually, the couple is alone with photographers and/or videographers present in the distance allowing the couple to share this moment.

When is it Done?

Traditional

A traditional first look typically occurs during the ceremony, when the groom sees his beautiful bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle, usually accompanied by her father or another loved one.

Modern Day

If you are not going the traditional route, the first look is a moment that  happens right after the bride slips into her dress, just before the ceremony starts. The groom stands in a beautiful spot, waiting for his bride, with his back turned while the bride quietly walks up to him, gives him a gentle tap on the shoulder or playfully covers his eyes, and when he finally turns around, he gets to see how stunning she looks! 

First Look with a Twist: First Touch 

A first touch is a spin on the traditional first look! Instead of laying eyes on each other before the ceremony, the couple finds a special spot where they can be close without seeing one another, like the opposite sides of a door or two neighboring walls. They then hold hands and share a heartfelt “first touch” before saying their vows! It’s a beautiful moment that allows you to chat and ease your nerves together, all while keeping that exciting sense of surprise intact.

The first look is a personal choice between each couple.
