There’s something about this time of year that just feels a bit special. The holidays are just around the corner, and families are coming together, holding hands a little more warmly, and suddenly… everyone seems to be more engaged. If your feed has been filled with ring photos, cozy couple selfies, and “we said yes” captions, you’re not imagining it. Engagement season is definitely in full swing.

This season typically kicks off around Thanksgiving and runs through Valentine’s Day. It’s a time when many proposals happen, and couples begin to think about what’s next. Once the initial excitement settles just a bit, the real planning begin. Now it’s time to start planning your wedding.

For many couples, this is when the fun begins. The search for vendors. Venues, photographers, videographers, planners, florists. Everyone is being bookmarked, followed, and emailed with enthusiasm. If you’re newly engaged, you might be feeling excited, a bit overwhelmed, or a mix of both. That’s completely understandable. There’s so much info out there, with lots of opinions so you’re not alone. Remember, this season is really about discovering what feels right for you and your partner.

One thing I always like to remind couples is that this is such a great time to slow down and be intentional. Engagement season isn’t a race. Yes, dates tend to fill up fast, especially for popular months, but choosing vendors is about more than just availability. It’s really about connection, trust, and feeling comfortable with the people who will be part of such a special day.

This is also why engagement sessions are such a special part of this time of year. They give couples a chance to celebrate this chapter, get comfortable in front of the camera, and capture photos that truly represent them. It’s not just about having beautiful pictures; it’s about cherishing how this season felt before the busy planning really kicks into high gear.

Enjoy the congratulations, the late-night Pinterest scrolling, and the fun conversations about what you want your big day to look like. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, trust your gut. Remember, there’s no need to feel pressured to do things just because everyone else is. Engagement season is about more than just rings and plans. It’s about choosing each other, and then choosing the people who will help tell your unique story.
