I met Ashley back in Auguste through another wedding photographer who sent her my way. One thing about this industry: referrals are your best friend. We connected pretty quickly, and by the time we got to their engagement session, it already felt easy. We ended up shooting at their venue, which I honestly love when couples choose to do. It gives everyone a chance to get familiar with the space, see how the light hits, and get a little preview of what the wedding photos might look like. Plus, it just feels cute and intentional.

Ashley and Auguste were exactly what you hope for in a couple. Chill, kind, and connected. I’m pretty sure they’ve been together since college. They have that comfortable, subtle, “we know each other” energy. The vibes were good from the start. They cared about getting quality photos, they cared about their families, and they cared about having a real connection with their photographer. That’s honestly my favorite type of couple. It makes the whole experience feel like we’re working together instead of just “doing a job.”

Their wedding day started off strong. Before the rain decided to make its appearance, we got the chance to take their portraits outdoors. Photographers love cloudy days. Clouds are basically nature’s softbox. The sun is still there doing its thing, but the clouds diffuse the light so everything looks smooth, even, and glowy without anyone squinting. It makes skin look great, colors pop a little more, and overall, photos just come out beautifully.

Looking back at their gallery, what stands out to me most is how genuine everything felt. Their people showed up for them. They showed up for each other. And the photos reflect that; real connection, real joy, and a whole lot of love wrapped in a cloudy, cozy glow.

Ashley and Auguste were a reminder of why I love what I do. When you have couples who care about the experience as much as the photos, everything just clicks.
