It’s pretty amazing how life has a way of bringing people together. That’s exactly how I met Tahira and Jonathan. Tahira is best friends with Medina, who I’ve known from church for years. We’d often just exchange a quick “hey, how are you?” on Sundays, but nothing too deep, just familiar faces that kept crossing paths. Fast forward to their wedding day. Seeing them surrounded by family and friends, all that love and laughter, it was beautiful to witness.

So when Tahira got engaged, she didn’t waste any time reaching out. She said she already knew she wanted me to capture their engagement photos and that meant a lot. We, Tahira, Jonathan, and I, hopped on a Zoom call to plan things out. It felt super easy and natural. That church connection definitely helped break the ice.

We chose to do their engagement session in Princeton. It turned out really beautiful, even with the chilly weather! The kids were real troopers, but by the end, everyone was ready to warm up. We headed back to my studio for a few extra shots. Somewhere during the shoot, they started having fun and created a little “When I See You” video just for fun. It was such a sweet, genuine moment that truly reflected their personalities.

Their wedding day was truly special. It was held at a venue I hadn’t shot at before, which made it feel fresh and exciting. Everything about the day came together beautifully. From the positive energy in the room to the way their families showed up with so much love. One of my favorite moments was when they shared a first look with their kids. It was simple, but so meaningful, and you could really see how much love is in that family.

What started as casual Sunday greetings turned into such a genuine connection. Getting to capture their love story, from engagement to wedding day, was a full-circle moment for me. It’s a reminder that you never know who’s watching your work or how those small interactions can lead to something so meaningful.
