When Jazlyne and Alex told me they met at Marcus Live! Bar & Grille at American Dream, I couldn’t help but smile. From their story, seems like Jazlyne wasn’t really in the mood to be approached that day. Of course, life had different ideas. What began as a casual moment ended up turning into something much more special. For their one-year anniversary session, it only felt right to return to where it all began. Same place, new chapter. Full circle moment.

Jazlyne and Alex moved through the mall reminiscing on their story. Pausing for photos, memories, and a few sweet flashbacks. Their energy made shooting easy. There were no forced poses or no overthinking. There was only their love, playfulness, and connection.

Anniversary sessions are special because they’re a celebration of the work that gets put in everyday. The learning each other, the laughs, and the choosing each other even when it’s not always easy. That’s what made this one so fun to capture.

What I loved most about this session with Jazlyne and Alex was how full circle it felt. From an impromptu meet at a restaurant to intentionally celebrating a year of growing together. that’s the kind of story that makes me love my job.

I hope to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding when the time comes! Their story is only going to get better from here.
