It’s funny how life has its way of surprising us. A few months back, I was chatting with a friend about how I wanted to shoot a wedding in Colombia. My husband is Colombian it was definitely on top of list to visit, both personally and professionally. I met a couple at an event who were planning to get married there, but they had already booked their photographer. Still, we had such a lovely conversation about it. I remember thinking “okay God, I’m putting this out into the universe.“

Fast forward a few weeks later, and boom Jenadra.

Her original photographer was pregnant and could no longer travel, so she began looking for someone new. Somehow, some way, our paths crossed. What began as just a small scheduling change turned into one of the most beautiful, joy-filled weddings I’ve ever had the privilege of capturing.

Jenadra and Devon’s destination wedding in Colombia was truly more than just a ceremony. It turned into a lively celebration of love, family, and community. From the moment I arrived, their families welcomed everyone with such warmth and kindness. The atmosphere filled up with so much joy and good energy.

The rehearsal dinner really set the mood. Guests took turns sharing stories; some funny, some heartfelt, and others full of wise words. It was a touching moment. You could see just how much Jenadra and Devon are loved and supported. Not only as a couple but as remarkable individuals too.

The wedding day itself was beautiful. From the views to the vows, everything flowed with ease and intention. You could see how genuinely happy they both were to be entering this next chapter together.

Some stories find you when you least expect it. This one was an answered prayer. Colombia will always hold a special place in my heart. Not just because of where it is, but because of who I got to witness love there.
