Importance of Personal Branding

Living in days where social media is a huge part of who you are, we can understand how important your image is viewed. Personal branding is a bit like how we portray social media. Yes, it gets personal, get it lol! It can build trust, recognition and loyalty which in return creates loyal customers. It can also represent your organization, place of work, future career pursuits, etc. It is so important, it is an organizations most valued asset. Also did you know personal branding and photography goes hand in hand. So what exactly is personal branding and why is personal branding important?

What is Personal Branding?

Personal branding in a nutshell is the process of how you represent or promote yourself to an audience as an individual. This is also with a focus in what you stand for. There are many benefits but my favorite is generating growth which can translate to more money honey! As a photographer, I get a front row seat to how important this is and why clients seek great shots to represent themselves. I love to create the environment they envision so the representation reaches their audience. I too do this for my business. So I understand the value.

Personal View as a Photographer

People want to connect with other people, we naturally desire this trait. We also want to buy from people. When someone goes on a website or social media platform and do not see a photo of you, it is not personable. It does not scream connection. They may still work with you because your content is great and may have great reviews. But what makes someone fall in love with you and trust you, is being able to see you. Seeing pictures of your personal life is attractive. For an example, taking a picture with your dog or images of you while working. This is personable for the audience. It builds trust, attracts the audience and creates loyal customers.
